City of Portland Fair Housing Act 50th Anniversary Commemoration

Join Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler and City Commissioner Nick Fish in recognizing the history and importance of the 50th anniversary of the Fair Housing Act.

City of Portland Fair Housing Act 50th Anniversary Proclamation
1:30 - 3:30 pm
The Portland City Council will proclaim April as Fair Housing Month. Mayor Ted Wheeler will sign the city’s proclamation using a pen presented by Commissioner Nick Fish that his father, U.S. Rep. Hamilton Fish, used to sign the historically significant 1988 amendment to the Fair Housing Act. Fair housing advocates will provide testimony about the role of fair housing in Portland.

Fair Housing : Past, Present and Future

Diane Hess, FHCO's education and outreach director, will present an overview of the history and legacy of the fair housing movement in the United States and Oregon.
