Books, Publishing: New Novel Out!

NEW BOOK NOW PUBLISHED!

A feisty single mom clashes with an ex-military, macho corporate star at a business retreat in the wild Colorado mountains, where only one can win a huge prize. But when a massive flood imperils
their love and survival, they learn the meaning of true partnership.

Years ago, Ramona (‘Raye”) Soto faced harsh reality when a roving con man knocked her up. Now at thirty-something she’s concentrating on her career in a major telecommunications firm and funding college for her teenaged son. Enter Desmond Emmett—a fast talker and smooth operator. New to the office, the ex-serviceman possesses every negative quality for a guy Raye should avoid.

I like to think this is a new type of women’s fiction, unafraid to debate contemporary concerns. . . pulls no punches. . .provides a fresh look at age-old issues. This is your kind of writing if you think. . .People are smarter than any phone. . .Feminism is just starting to come alive. . .You’ll take a human any day over the most advanced app. . . .You can laugh at yourself. . . Women use four-letter words, including l-o-v-e.

This is my fifth book of fiction, and it's from Imajin Books. You can get yours now in e-version. Paperback will be out shortly.

8 IRISH AUTHORS TO READ IN MARCH: You may know the usual suspects—Joyce, Yeats, Wilde. Here’s a contemporary list. Colum McCann’s “Let the Great World Spin” is a special favorite of mine. But where, oh where, is a mention of Edna O’Brien? A major omission. See http://www.miltonindependent.com/8-irish-authors-read-march/

NEW BLOG SERIES FROM GUESTS: I’ve tweaked my blog to introduce a new series of guest blogs--A view of writing, from the inside. The first feature is "The Thrill of Writing About Love," by Khaled Talib, author of thrillers. You're invited to visit and comment. www.BonnieMcCune.com/blog

KIDS CELEBRATE DR SEUSS ON HIS BIRTHDAY: Early March saw the annual commemoration of Dr. Seuss’s birthday and reading aloud and with kids. Many schools and libraries use March 3 as the date to remind the world of the importance of books in kids’ lives. Doull Elementary in Denver was just one of those. https://doull.dpsk12.org/2018/03/06/happy-birthday-dr-seuss/

ARE YOU IN MY HIVE? AM I IN YOURS?
One description of connectedness is "hive." People with common interests are said to be in the same hive. To stay in touch with me and help me reach new readers, try some easy activities:
•    Visit your local library and either ask them to order my books and/or request that they check a copy out to you. IF they don’t have a copy, they can request the titles via interlibrary loan.
•    Sign up for my blog and newsletter. www.BonnieMcCune.com/blogAppearances coming up. Feed the buzz. Keep up with blogs on my website or Facebook.
•     Appearances are coming up in May. A Mother's Day celebration, since the new book stars the mother of a teenaged son, at Barnes & Noble, Saturday, 5/12, 960 S Colorado Blvdf. A second May appearance at the Denver Woman's Press Club in Denver will be forthcoming, with several women authors.
