Get to know our friendly active 'bent community -- expand your circle.
Minister of CultureYou may have already noticed, but we are making a concerted attempt to keep everything important, including an event calendar with all the details about each event on our website.  Therefore, below you are going to find simply a "teaser" with a link to take you to that section of our website.

PLEASE feel free to share this newsletter with friends you want to invite into the 'bent community.  All of our events are open to cyclists of any style.  Yes, we want to have fun with and support the 'bent community and yes, we want to expand it.  And yes, we are in the business of selling recumbents.  :-)  But you knew that.

So, let us know if there are events coming up you think the community would be interested in; our calendar is not just for Easy Street-sponsored events.    We want to be a nexus of information for the 'bent community.  Hopefully, we can promote the events of others, and they can promote ours, and ... we all benefit.

So, read on for what is on the calendar currently ... and keep checking the website for more AND look for the continued occasional newsletter to update and remind you of Easy Street news.

Dallas Sr Games 2017So, your hard-working ESR staff comes back from Sun City, unloads, and loads back up and heads for Dallas so we can be there bright and early Saturday morning to welcome all you competitors and your supporters with the Hospitality Tent and refreshments. We WILL be grilling.

I was going to bring up the weather forecast, but maybe I won't.

Ride Ataxia

After several years of WISHING to participate in this Ride, another ride for an excellent cause, this year we are really going to do it.  Once again, look for the Hospitality Tent.  However, for this event, we will be providing breakfast items since the event is sponsored by Outback Steakhouse; there will be no stepping on toes!

Registration for this ride is open until Thursday, March 22, noon (link will take you to their website).  So, if you haven't registered yet and want to come, there's still time.  Maybe next year we will get a team together ... and THANKS, David Henry for being our inspiration.

San Antonio Military Adaptive Cycling Clinic

This is an event we have been invited to participate in annually and we are honored and happy to do so.  Organized by Operation Comfort, it is attended by many veterans who learn how riding a recumbent can add joy (as well as exercise) to their lives.  It is open to active duty and retired veterans of any branch of the military and, if you are interested, you may still register.

Wine, Wildflowers, and Cycling
Subtitled:  Who could ask for more?!

Our ESR friend, Don Bynum, is the person we get to thank for this upcoming adventure. And, I can hardly wait!  So, for those of you who are up for a 29.86-mile ride (it can be shorter if you choose) that begins and ends at Fall Creek Vineyards where you can stick around for a wine-tasting afterwards if that sounds good to you, JOIN US!

If you're not in shape, get moving!  And, if you have an electric assist, this is a perfect ride for you ... and spread the word on this event for sure!

What better way to celebrate Earth Day than to be close to her, celebrating her beauty and abundance.

When?        Saturday, April 21, 10:00 a.m.
                   (wheels hit the road!)

Where?       Fall Creek Vineyards, Tow, TX

Now, I cannot let this opportunity go by without mentioning that if you live in the Dallas area and want to celebrate Earth Day with a WHOLE BUNCH of other people, the EarthX 2018 event is happening April 20-22.  AND, our friend, Patti Erickson, will be there all by her lonesome, spreading the recumbent gospel, unless some of you show up and help her.  Please consider doing so.  Easy Street is helping to sponsor, but we can't be there in person.  Let me know if you could participate and I will put you in touch with her.  She's the one who dresses like a Mad Cow at The HOT and leads our most popular ride.  :-)   You know she has GOT to be a fun person to hang out with!
Mad Cow PattiHOT 2017 too much fun

Don't stop here ... keep reading!
Glamp with us at Lake Mineral Wells State Park, May 4-6!

I'm thinking you just might want to have as much fun as these people are having ...

And our aim is to make sure you do!  So, go look at the information on our website, if you have any questions, call me, Rebecca, at 512-789-4118.  Invite friends and family.  Last time, we even had non-riders join us and they had a great time as well.

The main attraction is a 20-mile long Rails-to-Trails trailway.  YAY!

We have been wanting to celebrate our new north Texas presence and this is one way we are doing it.

Watch out Ft. Worth, we are still coming!

ESR's sun rises in Ft. Worth

Work on making the Ft. Worth shop happen is clanking along ...

As we speak, Mike and Micah are returning from Ft. Worth where they have spent yet another set of days off and where there have been conversations with contractors, leasing agents, and city officials.  Nothing is signed!  But we are getting closer.  Click on the picture to read the last thing Mike wrote as an update and ... pay attention to Plan C.  That's where all the current action is.
So, I know you are all out there celebrating spring and our best riding weather ...

We had a lovely Community Ride last Saturday on the South Walnut Creek Trail; for some, it was an introduction to a new trail, for others, it was another chance to ride what is one of my favorite trails.  After our January and February rides got rained out, it was so great to be rewarded with gorgeous weather.  And, of course, there are those nice friendly people who show up.  That's always a pleasure.

There is so much more I could write about, but we will start with this and ... there will be another newsletter sooner rather than later.

THANKS to everyone for your ongoing support and enthusiasm.  Come see us!  Buy stuff!  It's been a long winter.  :-)
