Our pick of the month ... how mad is March Madness?

The Race and Equality Center at the University of Southern California explores racial inequities in NCAA division college sports in our pick of the month.

Black men make up 2.4% of students enrolled at 64 universities with major athletics programs, but comprise 55% of football teams and 56% of basketball teams.

As sports leadership and spectators at these schools are largely white, these and other statistics support inequalities based on race as well as exclusion of black non-athletes.
