Staff Students Happy to be Back

STUDENTS AND STAFF HAPPY TO BE BACK AT DUT

After eight weeks of the staff strike, the Durban University of Technology students and staff are delighted to have the university fully operational. PRESTIGIOUS NOMINATION FOR DUT LECTURER’S INNOVATIVE DESK

Durban University of Technology’s Interior Design graduate and part-time lecturer, Siyanda Mbele’s “Mvelo Desk” recently scored a nomination in the category as one of the “Most Beautiful Object in South Africa” during the Design Indaba’s 2018 Awards.

Mbele is the owner of Pinda, which designs and manufactures hand-painted furniture inspired by the uniqueness of South African cultures.

Wellness Sports Day

DUT TO HOST WELLNESS SPORTS DAY FOR FIRST YEAR STUDENTS

More than 600 first year students are expected to be part of The Durban University of Technology’s Wellness Sports Day on Saturday, 17 March 2018 at the Fred Crookes Sports Centre, Steve Biko Campus.

 This event will be hosted by the department of Student Housing and Resident Life department. DUT’s Student Resident Assistant (RA), Sphamandla Dlamuka said the Wellness Sports Day is part of their annual programmes aimed at assisting new students to adapt to life at DUT.
