March 2018

There's so much happening at camp, we almost missed this month's newsletter! Here's a brief update on some of the praises and prayer requests happening this month. Thank you all for your prayers and support of the Lord's work here.

Meet Abby Arguelles—our new kitchen manager!

You've been praying with us for a kitchen manager for nearly a year, and Abby is finally moved in to camp! She's already been hard at work in a variety of roles, but mainly leading the kitchen staff as they create delicious meals for guests! We're so glad to welcome Abby to the year-round camp team.

"Hey friends, my name is Abby Arguelles, and I LOVE summer! Besides the warm weather, summer also brings back some pretty special memories like accepting Christ as my Savior at VBS, and coming to Camp Sunrise!
"The very first time I came to camp, a counselor said he would see me next year.... I was both doubtful and hopeful. Sure enough, I have come back every single year since then! Each year at camp is a totally new experience, but some things remain the same—like constantly being in the Word, laughing a lot, making new friends, serving with the old ones, deep conversations, and of course the good food! I am so excited to see what God has in store for this summer!"

More groups and activities!

Over the past few weeks (and for a few more), several groups are attending retreats here at camp. We're excited to welcome these friends, new and old, for their stay at camp! Please pray with us that they would have a great time and be spiritually encouraged while they are here.

Below are a couple of pictures from a scout group that just left. They enjoyed some new activities like a night hike, fish dissection, and woods navigation class. We also thank the Lord for several opportunities to encourage these guests spiritually while they were here.

Campership Banquet - April 13

Would you join us at a banquet to sponsor children in need? Thousands of youth have attended summer camp, heard the gospel, and been changed as a result. We'd love to offer this unique opportunity to more campers this year! Consider attending our Campership Banquet on April 13 at 6:00pm. The banquet will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Smyrna, GA. Rather than paying for a ticket, we ask that each attendee donate toward a campership for youth in need.
