Searching For Heroes
...because there are just so many songs about Superman
Come on by to the Vimy Brewing Company in Hintonburg this Thursday night to play songs about, or at least referencing, heroes of all kinds. Let's bring out a nice crowd to check out another of Ottawa's fine brewpubs.
Now about the theme for this week's set: heroes. I think everyone knows at least one song referencing Superman. He seems to be a recurring character in songs crossing many decades. We've done some mini-themes along these lines before, and I was curious to see if a full 10 song set could be created. Turns out, there are more song options than I could contain in one set. I'll keep adding songs to the 'Extras' list that we'll be able to tackle in our second set of the night.
Have you joined the Ukebox Jams Facebook Group yet? I'd love to continue to get input from you for crafting our setlists going forward. This is where we'll bat around song suggestions, thoughts on our jams, and even pictures, videos, and other things of that nature. Also, if you're a facebook user, register that you're coming on Thursay's Facebook Event. Share it with your friends!
As for song suggestions, I'm interested in all your ideas whether they come with a chart or not. All the better if that chart comes from one of these three fine song libraries: www.ukeboxlessons.com, www.myuke.ca, www.bytownukuleles.com.
Future Themes:
In April, these are the themes that I'm currently musing about:
