Music is the Best Medicine

On February 22nd DWW-SBSM hosted a fundraiser at the Red Piano which was filled with good music, good drinks and the company of many good friends and supporters of DWW-SBSM.
Doctors Without Walls - Santa Barbara Street Medicine's
Response the the Thomas Fire and Montecito Mudslides

On February 25, 2018, DWW-SBSM was on site providing medical care if needed, at the Kick Ash Bash, which honored first responders and raised much needed funds for emergency equipment, counseling services and survivor relief.

We continue to monitor the developing situation, staying apprised of changing weather patterns and upcoming rain forecasts for this week, that may result in additional mud and debris flows.

We will continue to lend a hand where most needed, and where it makes most sense for us, and our mission  to provide free, volunteer medical care for the most vulnerable of Santa Barbara County, when and where they are in need, including in times of disaster.
Join us for Underground Sounds
w/ Tariqh Akoni & Special Guests

On Saturday, March 24 from 6-9p, as we continue our 10th anniversary celebration(s), we would like to invite you to join us for a fun musical experience at Wine Therapy, 732 State St. 10% of sale proceeds will go to Doctors Without Walls - Santa Barbara Street Medicine.

What you will have to look forward to:

In collaboration with SB Music Foundation: “Underground Sounds with Tariqh Akoni”. LA-based Tariqh (he performed at our Glow in the Park fundraiser last year) has put together an exceptional trio with MarioCalire (The Wallflowers, Ozomattl, Stephan Stills) on drums and Randy Tico (Legendary SB bassist for Jeff Bridges, Airto Moreira, Kenny Loggins) on bass. They will be playing as a trio as well as backing up some incredible up-and-coming Central Coast talent. Guaranteed to blow you away!! No cover.

The Story of David "Hopper" Hopkins

Often times, society deems those who are less fortunate as less deserving. Individuals of low socio-economic status do not receive proper healthcare coverage because they are viewed as less. The social injustices that plague our healthcare system are great. It is truly astounding how quickly a functioning member of society can become invisible in the eyes of our healthcare system. Here is a story of a man who has experienced the hardship of homelessness; a man who was once invisible to Santa Barbara County. It is my pleasure to introduce you to David “Hopper” Hopkins, Doctors Without Walls Companion Care Manager.
DWW Volunteer Spotlight: Winter 2018

Doctors Without Walls would not be where it is today without its outstanding volunteers. Some of our incredible volunteers have gone above and beyond during these past few months to help serve the Santa Barbara community. Their optimistic outlook, positive attitude, and volunteerism create the driving force behind the organization. We would like to highlight three extraordinary volunteers of Fall 2017: Aiden Healy, Gaby Moreno, and Vivian Bui.
Congratulations to Matt Sumethasorn
for being recognized as the
2017 Doctors Without Walls Volunteer of the Year!
Thank you for reading!
