A Million Possibilities: Solo Ocean Row 2017
Ron Laroche, Community Living Ontario

Colin Sanders' quest to row across the Atlantic Ocean on his own will be realized later today. After 83 days at sea, the 64-year-old will make landfall at Nelson's Dockyard in Antigua's English Harbour.

He shared a brief blog post on his website yesterday, which is likely to be his last before he arrives on the Caribbean Island.

"Sorry for the lack of posts lately," reads the entry. "Focusing on the last leg of the journey. About 50 nautical miles to go!"

Sanders has been rowing as part of A Million Possibilities: Solo Ocean Row 2017, an awareness and fundraising campaign with Community Living Ontario. His son, Jeff, who has intellectual and physical disabilities, is supported by Community Living Campbellford/Brighton.

Together with participating organizations hosting awareness and fundraising events of their own, the campaign has raised more than $145,500.

To track Colin's progress, post comments to his blog posts, or make a donation to Community Living Ontario, visit www.soloatlanticrow2017.com.

A Million Possibilities: Solo Ocean Row 2017 is also generously sponsored by Ocean's, Nite Ize, CSBT, McDougall Insurance and Financial, Frank Cowan Company, and Bollin Group Inc.

March break for all schools in the district which means no school for the week of March 11th to March 17th.

Some kids will be traveling for a vacation to warm places like Florida or Mexico and some kids stay close to home and enjoy a relaxing week off.  If you're close to home, you can always see what's happening at the library or at the museum. The Sportsplex might have activities also like swimming or skating. If you want to get out, you could go to for a walk on the 8th Street trail or along the river park walk. Whatever you decide to do, stay safe and have fun. If you don't have March Break off, you can still enjoy the nice weather in March. You could have fun on St. Patrick's Day too, make sure to wear something green. Maybe you could be lucky enough to spot a leprechaun and find a pot of gold. Just make sure you watch out for those potholes on 2nd Street East or you might have to repair your car.
