  National Arts Centre's Sesquicentennial Expansion  
   
 

The National Arts Centre (NAC) has been a cultural destination in the heart of Ottawa for the past half-century. To celebrate Canada's 150th anniversary the NAC began the transformation of their space to make it more accessible to the general public, and received the largest government investment for cultural infrastructure. This included an addition of 60,000 square feet and renovation of 20,000 square feet by Diamond Schmitt Architects, bringing increased public space, a 65 foot-tall tower wrapped in transparent LEDs, an additional stage and ticket office and additional programming areas for events. Entro designed the comprehensive wayfinding and donor recognition program spanning the interior and exterior of the building.

Campus One – A Space for Modern Students

 
   
  Responding to an increasingly competitive education market, higher housing demands from students and a lack of residences near University of Toronto (U of T), Knightstone Capital Management created CampusOne, a new 890-bed student residence. Located across the street from U of T’s main campus and designed by Diamond Schmitt Architects, this residence offers five star amenities, furnished suites, a cafeteria accessible to all students, and on-site security. For CampusOne, Entro developed the overarching brand, then applied it to the building by virtue of a large-scale environmental graphics and wayfinding program.

  Collaboration at Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport  
   
 

The largest and busiest airport in the Upper Midwest, Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (MSP) is a key hub for Delta Airlines and was recently voted by Skytrax as the top airport in North America. MSP is in the midst of their 2020 Vision Plan which includes check in, baggage and security consolidation. These changes require an architectural solution with flexible and holistic wayfinding to provide a seamless journey for all passengers. An early collaboration between MSP, Alliiance and Entro has ensured a cohesive, uniform system for wayfinding that is supported by effective planning and building design.

Entro contributed to a recent issue of the Canadian Urban Transit Association's Urban Mobility Forum Magazine, known as the primary source of transit industry news in Canada. 'Transit-Oriented Development Through the Lens of Branding and Wayfinding' explains how to build attractive TOD neighborhoods that create a true sense of community and place. 

 

Passenger Terminal Expo is the most highly regarded airport terminal conference in the world. Every year it brings together airport executives, managers and teams from over 90 countries. At this year’s upcoming conference in Stockholm, Entro’s Vedran Dzebic, PhD will present ‘Inside the Minds of Our Passengers, New Technology Tells All’.
