- The Cambridge Community Foundation has partnered with the City of Cambridge, led by Mayor Marc McGovern, to establish a Legal Defense Fund for Immigrants. Currently, only 37% of all immigrants and 14% of detained immigrants go to court accompanied with a lawyer. Represented immigrants are 5 times more likely to obtain relief than their unrepresented counterparts. Urgent funds are needed before May 15.
- Nonprofit member Just-A-Start launched a $48 million project to renovate 112 units of affordable housing in Cambridge; all year long it will also be celebrating its 50th anniversary.

The Cambridge Redevelopment Authority (CRA) recently announced its annual Forward Fund 2018 - a micro-grant program offering $5,000 to $25,000 for physical improvement projects that better Cambridge's built environment for the benefit of all the city's residents, workers, and visitors. Independent small businesses, retailers, neighborhood groups, human services organizations, inventors, artists, educators, entrepreneurs, civic organizations, and more should apply before April 17.
