St. Patrick's Day comes early to BBVE

TERRY BOYLE AND MARTIN NOLAN: THURSDAY MARCH 15TH 8PM

Did you know St Patrick's Day is an official holiday in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador? We did not, but it seems like a perfectly find discussion starter over a pint of stout and some Irish-infused music with a couple of lads from the old country.
Folk roots guitarist Terry Boyle lives in Ladysmith by way of Dublin and keeps his Irish folk roots alive thanks to visits from his musical friend, uilleann piper Martin Nolan who still resides in Ireland.
Uilleann pipes are the softer, sweeter, more expressive cousin of the traditional bagpipes. Martin is an internationally renowned piper who has played at the Lincoln Centre for the Arts in New York, the Abbey Theatre in Dublin and London's National Theatre. You've undoubtedly heard uilleann pipes without knowing what they were called:

The haunting, celtic music of the uilleann pipes can move a person to tears,. but they're also capable of a joyous sound:

BBVE is pleased to host these two talented and spirited musicians for an evening of Celtic celebration, fun, laughter and perhaps a few tears. Seating is limited but tickets are still available at $20 by calling the Empourium during business hours at 778-351-0178. Doors open at 7pm for food and beverage service.

"May the love and joy we share be with us ever after."
- Irish prayer of gratitude
