The Past Few Months at EwA...

05/07/18 – We migrated our newsletter to mailchimp. This is a reprint of last Jan's (and second) EwA newsletter so that we have it in our new archive.

So much has happened again since our first quarterly newsletter!

▹ The novelty at Earthwise Aware this Winter is the EwA Nature Circles outreach program.  EwA circles cultivate mindful individual and collective ecological experiences. It is designed in a way that anyone of us, at any age, and from anywhere in the world, can participate in and initiate EwA circles–getting us closer to Nature and to ourselves. Check it out and pick one of our circles' activities. Start alone or with some friends, right at home where you live!

Since its launch, we even led a few Nature Circles ourselves in Massachusetts, such as our trailing of snowy owls this past December. If you're around, keep an eye on our events and join our next one!

We also made a great addition to our team: Shilpa, an expert ecologist who helps with EwA's mission and vision. Aside from contributing to our various literacy outreach programs, Shilpa is likely to tackle the topic of ethics in Field Research, adding to our guides and etiquettes. We are so grateful to have such a passionate and talented expert among us. Welcome again to the EwA family, Shilpa!

Otherwise, we continued improving and extending our existing content and programs...

We furthered our relationship with our collaborators & scientists who help us write some of our main nature & wildlife guides and etiquettes » Check EwA's latest Wildlife etiquette

We published insightful articles from our wonderful contributors.

We’ve added Pinterest and Eventbrite to our social media base.

We deepened our partnerships with local community centers and conservation nonprofits.

EwA's website improved quite a bit again and got its Winter outfit! We always have in mind to expose valuable/reliable content that is both usable and fun, as well as visually attractive. It's hard work but very rewarding, and we've got numerous enthusiastic feedback about it. Have a look: EwA really looks awesome!

One last note: if you're in the Boston area this Winter, come and join our EwA seminar (Positive Eco-Ethics in a Human-Dominated World) and hosted by a local education center. Check also our cool Winter Youth Program , developed in collaboration with The Center for Arts at the Armory. This is a very cool program designed to encourage youth ages 11 to 16 to explore the natural world around them through artistic creativity using natural and found objects, nature & naturalist walks, journaling, and the usage of naturalist apps. The youth will eventually become mentors in their communities by taking part in awareness programs and sharing their knowledge with their schools, friends, younger and older family members.

All this could not happen without your support. We are so grateful to have you in our community!

Thanks!
