It is difficult to put into words how grateful I am. 

In January, when I announced my intention to run for office, I expected my friends to encourage me.  Some of you have spent months or years pushing me to run for office.  What I didn’t expect, and what is deeply humbling, is how deep and wide the support has been.  Not only have you offered words of affirmation, but you have taken action.  

Your willingness to put your gifts—creative, analytical, financial, technological, organizational—into use for my campaign has been incredible to witness.  I’m thrilled to have your support as a newly-qualified candidate for Board of Education District 4.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!          -Allyson

Gevertz Qualifies for May 22 School Board Election

March 5, 2018 - This morning, Allyson Gevertz officially qualified as a candidate for DeKalb Board of Education District 4.  She announced her intent to run in January; the announcement was met with resounding encouragement.  “There is no one I have ever met more passionate or more knowledgeable regarding the DeKalb County Schools,” said Dr. Keith Delman, a resident of District 4.

How Can You Help? 
  • Donate   As nonpoliticians, the campaign committee has been shocked at expensive fees for campaign setup and election qualification.  The qualifying fee alone was $540. Your donation will help with campaign filings, public notice and banking fees, and event expenses.  Every dollar helps!
  • Spread the Word  Please forward this email to friends and family.  Invite them to the next Meet and Greet on March 25th at Dresden Park from 2-4pm.  Even though Allyson is unopposed in the election, she will continue getting to know stakeholders in person and will be communicating through social media and email updates. 
  • Vote  Be sure to vote on May 22nd, and remind your friends and families to do the same.  Early voting will be available for this election.
