Language School Graduates!
Praise:

Official Spanish Speakers-(kind-of)
While Language Classes are complete, we will continue to learn as we get lots of practice everyday with the girls and staff at Prince of Peace.
Moving On
God is writing the next chapter in our story. We are thankful for the purchase of a dependable, affordable car that will allow us to be less of a burden to our other missionary friends for our transportation needs. We were able to negotiate the government agency forms (requiring an attorney) and other paperwork necessary to get the vehicle registered in our name and insured--with the help of some good friends in Antigua.
One Car Sold!
We are reducing the price of the house to draw more interest. Thank You to Darrell Sells (319 987-3131), Realtor Michelle Henzie (319 231-2892) and Erik Crandall for taking care of things for us.
Friends came on Short Term Mission Trip
We are thankful for the 2 Iowa girls that came to work at POP. Although we did not get as much visit time with them as we would have liked, Elizabeth and Kristen brought their servant hearts to put in some long days of work painting, sewing and whatever else was asked of them.
Prayer:
Transition
That we will transition well into the daily responsibilities as Gwen begins teaching English and Darren works with Juan and Lawrence to make needed repairs and document the physical layout of plumbing and electrical systems utilizing his drafting skills.
New Relationships
That we will begin to build relationships with the girls,(learning all their names) so we can demonstrate God's love and care for them.
Family at Home
Darren's brother, Scott, is still battling cancer. Gwen's mom, Mary, will have knee surgery next month and Gwen's daughter, Genna, is currently in the hospital trying to avoid an early delivery of her second child. They have scheduled a C-Section for March 10th if the baby will cooperate and wait a few more days. Darren's children, Steven and Courtney, as they continue to work through the loss of their mom. Darren was able to go home to Michigan for a time with them and the funeral service. It is increasingly hard for us to be far away when our loved ones are going through life changing events. We know they are in God's hands and your prayers for them help us rest in that knowledge.
Perseverance:
Daily Challenges
For the little life things like setting up bank accounts that will allow us to transfer money between countries for paying bills like insurance, phones and living expenses.
Navigating traffic where lane lines are merely suggestions and disorganized, crazy traffic patterns can make it difficult to head out on simple grocery runs.

Health
We both recently battled stomach issues. Without going into the gory details, suffice it to say that other organisms have taken up residency in our digestive tracts and are very persistent. We are waging war with medicines and think we are on the mend.
Good Bye to our Home Stay family in Antigua. They truly did make us feel like we were a part of their family.
(yes, Gwen left their puppy even though she wanted to sneak it into our bags.)
New to us: 2004 Ford Escape.
(yes, same make, model and year as the car we are selling in Iowa!)
Thank You
God has provided several new financial partners and we have been both amazed and humbled by the generosity of His people. We have tried to thank everyone personally through emails, snail mail and instant messaging but some have chosen to donate anonymously so we want to express our gratitude here once again. Your prayers and support truly are a lifeline to us.
