Local Entrepreneur Spotlight
Bite! Food Truck
A mobile purveyor of deliciousness
Owner Michael Killgore has been a chef for almost 20 years before starting his newest project. BiTE! You may have seen the big green truck around the tri-cities, often serving in Erwin and JC.

Gourmet Philly Cheese Steaks are the menu highlight made to order on locally made hoagies or on top of a baked potato-aka stuffed in a spud. Weekly specials showcase Michael's creativity like the Mediterranean - a prime rib pita wrap with sauteed peppers and onions topped with an orange tzatziki. Get out and get in line to support your local food trucks!

Find BiTE! on facebook or use Street Food Finder to learn where they'll be next.

Street Food Finder is an app easily accessible on your mobile or computer. You can track food trucks wherever you go across the US.

Beginning Farmers Wanted

The Farmer and Rancher Mentorship program (F.A.R.M.) is a collaboration project with Appalachian Sustainable Development, Appalachian RC&D Council, and Rural Resources. The project's goal is to help meet the growing demand for local food by training young farmers who will stay in our region and thrive. Through funding from the USDA Beginning Farmer and Rancher Development Program, 2018 kicks-off the program's pilot year. Are you a beginning farmer interested in learning more?

The organization is recruiting 4-5 beginning farmers who want to be paired with a more experienced farmer for a season of hands on learning. Interested farmers are encouraged to apply at: www.asdevelop.org/farm/apply. Contact Alexis for more information at alexis@arcd.org.
