Hannover Messe 2018

We’ll be there! The Hannover Messe 2018 expo will kick off on April 23rd. You'll find us at Hall 8 booth D13 together with Connected Production.

We’ll be showcasing two demos of our apps seamlessly fitting together with the Connected Production’s Industrie 4.0 concept of a fully integrated manufacturing system:
  • a simple but effective app on monocular smartglasses will notify the user about the status of supply of objects that are individually engraved for expo visitors by a laser marking robot.
  • an interactive demo simulating a CNC manufacturing process with key data and control panel displayed to a user wearing a pair of smartglasses.

So, come to the booth, put on a pair of AR goggles and see for yourself how you can find that competitive edge in Industry 4.0 era.

Connected Production is a project of three leading German companies joining forces to bring their expertise to the aid of other manufacturers taking steps towards digitization. Connected Production offers the entire integration of production systems from sensors, plant and planning to ERP from one source - with Augumenta and AR technology providing the key element of making that data easily available and actionable in the manufacturing process.

You are most warmly welcome to come and join us at the Expo. If you would like to book a meeting with us, please use this meeting tool.

A distribution agreement with Jorjin Technologies

Following our MWC2018 partnership announcement with Jorjin, we have now become an official distributor of their smartglasses. Already deployed on various B2B market segments, Jorjin provides monocular and binocular devices that can be customized to meet your requirements. Needless to say, all their devices are available with intuitive gesture control empowered by Augumenta. If you're interested in trying them out in your projects, don't hesitate to contact us!

At the 20th Laval Virtual imagining the future of AR and VR

Laval Virtual workshopsWe joined the staggering number of over 18 000 people taking part in the Laval Virtual expo in early April. Our CTO, Peter Antoniac gave a VRIC keynote speech about Augmented Reality in Industry 4.0 and attended the workshops. We had the privilege of taking part in imagining the future of immersive technologies. To give you a quick glimpse of the work done, here are some observations and comments we picked up along the way:
  • VR technology such as displays and interactions methods have improved significantly recently. There were some great use cases presented. Still, we heard confirmations of the predictions that AR is going to rule over VR. Experts believe, like Tim Cook, that AR will strongly move towards the consumer use in addition to already being strong in the industrial side.
  • Those who best manage to bridge the gap between real and virtual worlds will be the ones that succeed, be it industrial or consumer use case.
  • And in the industry 4.0 context; AR will have a huge impact on the whole value chain, be ready. ( How to start an industrial AR project? Take a look at our blog story about 10 steps to take.)
Laval Virtual is one of the most important events in Europe showcasing Virtual and Augmented Reality innovations and new technologies. Alongside the expo, a Virtual Reality International Conferences (VRIC) event is organised to bring together the leading industrial and academic professionals to create together a roadmap of future uses of VR and AR technologies. The updated Vision 2025 document will be available later this year on the Laval Virtual website
