I watched as he played the online basketball game. He had completely given up playing with his friend so he could focus on the unREAL. The intangible fictional play. Mom and Dad said, “He never stops. He really lacks self-control.” Since they prefer for him to not get too dirty, they feel it is nice to have him complacent for a time by playing a few online games.
But kids need dirt. They need to fully use their senses if they are going to have self control. By touching a plant or being stopped by some limit, kids get to understand what is self and what is not self. What their real limits are. What their boundaries are. And this opens up their minds to a limitless God.
REAL Camp allows kids (and parents) to get REAL dirty. Healthy kids run and spend time in the out-of-doors.
The2018 summer camp schedule is designed to provide many opportunities to fit your child's interests. If they are sports oriented, science oriented, musically oriented, animal oriented - there are summer overnight camp sessions designed to allow them to lean into these areas out and away from screens. It's REAL (dirty) CAMP. Spread the word.
Bring meaning to your round of golf. Join us as we play and support change in kids' lives, on a beautiful and challenging PGA level course while we enjoy good food, and great fellowship!.

RV Volunteers
Spend time living and volunteering at Camp Concordia this summer! RV volunteers help the ministry of Camp Concordia through their service, with work tailored to the skills and abilities of each volunteer. Dates are available June through September, and at least one week of service is preferred. Enjoy full or partial hook-ups in an area set aside for your Recreational Vehicle. Donations are welcome to help cover costs of site. Volunteers work half-day agreed upon schedules and are encouraged to seek Thrivent Action Team Grants for camp projects. Must be willing to allow background checks for working around and near children; and abide by Family Campground guidelines. If you would like more information about serving as a Summer RV Volunteer, call 616-754-3785.
