Information Security: Partner with IT to Protect Sensitive Data
Enroll in 2-Step Today!
To enroll click here.
As university employees, we are all responsible for protecting the sensitive information that we collect from students, community members, and business partners alike. Whether serving as a department assistant, health services professional, or in many other roles, we must ensure proper handling of confidential data as part our daily routines.
Why are we implementing 2-Step Verification?
2-Step Verification protects accounts against phishing, social engineering, password attacks and secures your logins from attackers exploiting weak or stolen credentials. 2-Step Verification with DUO is designed to protect your account by making it harder for a hacker to masquerade as an authorized user. 2-Step Verification will add a second level of protection to your account and the sensitive data you access to remain protected, even if your credentials are stolen.
Technology Services has started implementing 2-Step Verification at Fresno State in phases.
The first groups were early adopters and those with access to Fresno State’s Common Financial System [CFS]. Our goal is to have all employees, faculty, staff and student assistants, using 2-Step Verification by the end of 2018.
To learn more view the full page 2-Step Verification Sheet.
You can also learn more by watching the short Fresno State 2-Step Verification Video or visiting the Two-Factor Authentication website.

David Sedlak
Water 4.0 author speaks at Fresno State
Turn on the faucet, and water pours out. Pull out the drain plug, and the dirty water disappears. Most of us give little thought to the hidden systems that bring us water and take it away when we’re done with it. But these underappreciated marvels of engineering face an array of challenges that cannot be solved without a fundamental change to our relationship with water. Students, faculty, and staff across Fresno State have been reading David Sedlak's book Water 4.0 this semester.
Come hear the author speak when he visits campus April 12!
