Lightning Learners in Reception at Stapleford Abbotts Primary Academy have been learning about dinosaurs as part of the whole school topic of Extreme Earth.
The children created a Dinosaur Park in the role-play area and the whole class enjoyed becoming Palaeontologists digging for fossils, hunting for dinosaurs, examining bones and hatching eggs.
Frankie, aged five, said: "Look I’ve found a fossil, it has a foot print and it looks like a T-Rex! They also have sharp teeth."
Children also experimented making shape dinosaurs using a wide variety of resources.
Grace, aged five, said: "I made a dinosaur with wooden bricks and used the tall round bricks to make his long neck, it’s a Brachiosaurus."
The children also make their own ‘Dinosaur Journey’ stories using words and pictures.
Leah, aged five, said: "I have had so much fun and I have been really trying hard to get my writing better."
