DSEPTA SPRING UPDATE

April 2018

Letter from the President

It’s hard to believe that we have less than 50 days left in this school year!  It is flying by and we are already starting to think about next year!  There is still a lot going on and we are so grateful for all the volunteers that have helped us and continue to help us support our amazing school.

Coming up in May are two very important district wide events:  The election for Dripping Springs ISD Board of Trustees positions (there are three seats that will be elected) as well as voting on the proposed bond for the school district.  For more information on the candidates running for election please visit to: https://www.dsisdtx.us/Page/207 and for more information on the bond please visit: https://www.dsisdbond.net/.  We have an amazing community and an amazing school district and it takes all of us to achieve this!  Also, please join us on April 26thfor a presentation of the bond by Dr. Gearing in the CL&I.  This will occur in the CL&I in conjunction with Principal’s coffee and the next PTA meeting.  We hope to see you there!

Our next general PTA meeting (April 26th at 8am) is around the corner and so is our election for PTA Board officers.  I began volunteering when my oldest started first grade here at DSES and it has been one of the best experiences for me.  I have had an opportunity to meet so many parents and kids as well as get plugged into our school and how I can be of service.  There are always positions needed, both big and small, and things that can be done in the school and outside of the school.  It does take a village and I am honored to be a part of this village.  Please consider volunteering with the PTA.  WE NEED YOU!

Please reach out to me at president@dsepta.org. I’d love to hear from you and there is always a way to help our school.

Volunteers do not necessarily have the time, they just have the heart.  We are grateful to those hearts that care!  Thank you all for everything you do to enrich our children’s lives.

GO TIGERS!

NEW DSE PLAYGROUND!

The upper grade's (3rd-5th) playground build began over Spring break 2018 and is now finished! There will be a ribbon cutting on 4/26/18 following the PTA general meeting, that we would love for our parents to attend. We celebrate all of you who contributed during our APEX fun run and throughout the school year in order to make this happen for our students. We absolutely could not have built the students a new playground without you! HUGE thank you to Skyla Badger who volunteered many hours of organizing and planning of this playground project on behalf of the DSEPTA. The students are so excited for this awesome new place to play!
