It doesn't look much like Spring outside but the residents of Ruth's House are looking towards renewal and healing on the inside.  Many of the women are seeking new opportunities and welcome this time of transition.

If you are looking for new opportunities to support our mission, consider volunteering, making an in-kind donation from our needs list, or using amazonsmile when purchasing items for your home.  Information can be found in this newsletter.  Any questions, hit reply to this newsletter and we will be happy to answer.

2019 Hearts Gala Committee

Looking for a new volunteer opportunity which also happens to be a fun way to meet other supporters of Ruth's House?  Then join the Gala Committee!  Our first meeting is in May where will we begin planning the 2019 Hearts Gala set for February 9th, 2019.  Reply to this email for more information.
Volunteer Spotlight 
"A rock in our organization" - this is what Ruth Hickey, Executive Director, has to say about Lynn Aube, our volunteer spotlight for March. We couldn't agree more!  Lynn is a Front Desk Receptionist on Tuesday mornings at Ruth's House.  She answers the phone and door, gets supplies for the residents, puts away donations, and much more so that staff can spend more time providing direct services to our residents.  A beautiful person, inside and out, she even makes an appearance in our latest Repair Needs video found at the bottom of our homepage:  https://ruthshousemn.org/
 
Lynn writes:   I learned about Ruth’s House from my nephew's wife who was working at Ruth’s House at the time. I started volunteering for just a few hours while I was still working my full time job, now that I am retired I like to volunteer to “give back” and I know the work done at Ruth’s House is very important.

Volunteer Opportunities
  Childcare Volunteers - Come play with the kids while their moms attend weekly meetings and classes.  Short shifts available Wednesday evenings and once a month on Sunday afternoons.

Front Desk Receptionist - Love helping others and have availability during weekdays?  We are looking for front desk receptionists to help out at the shelter on Monday, Thursday, & Friday mornings.

Contractor or Handyperson - We are looking for contractors to help with needed repairs at the shelter for a variety of projects.  Know how to fix a bicycle or lay tile? Help with lawn care or landscaping? Consider volunteering at Ruth's House!

Graphic Design or IT Support -  Have graphic design skills, or technical know-how?  We could always use your help!
