Gorge Dam Community Education Forum: Protecting the Gorge’s Unique and Fragile Ecosystems

A public education forum for interested stakeholders and members of the public. Speakers from Summit Metro Parks will explore the unique habitat of the Gorge, whose distinctive geology gives rise to a wealth of sturdy plants and animals that can secure a living in this cool, wet rock environment. The Park’s effort to protect this ecology, which includes rare and endangered species, has been a primary concern in Gorge Metro Park’s operations. The forum will feature Park’s role in protecting and restoring this ecosystem will be during and after the Gorge Dam removal. Also, the public will get an update on the status of the dam removal. Presenters will be available during the reception that precedes the program.
