Please add your voice to the NOTL tree bylaw consultation

Although this is not a "Village" subject we are all invested in our NOTL community and I know many of our residents care passionately about preserving the beautifully treed neighbourhoods of the historic old town.  

The town launched a website last fall to provide an opportunity for community members to contribute to the conversation on town issues.  We have mentioned it previously here in the VCA newsletter and encourage you to "have your say" on the issues facing development in NOTL.  

The site is called JOIN THE CONVERSATION.

Currently we are encouraging you to participate in the Urban Tree By-law Public Consultation 
It is not widely known but this is likely be the last chance for a Tree Protection Bylaw.

The town has hired a consultant to assess if a Tree Protection Bylaw is necessary or if it is truly the will of the people.  The consultant will report in early April.

To poll public opinion they are using the “Join The Conversation”  website.  Please take the time NOW to complete the survey.

2. Add a 'Thumbs Up' on all the comments you agree with.

3. Add a comment ......if only to say 

"An Urban Tree Protection Bylaw, for both private & public lands, is needed."

To start you will need to Register (5 minutes)

It is a very short, non intrusive  & non committing form.

Note: the ‘Login’ line is for the name you want associated with your comments.

The confirmation email process is very quick and it provides a link to take you right back to the site.

Once you are registered you need only sign in for all subsequent visits.

1. Click on 'Take the Survey’ for the Survey (5 minutes).
   It is 2 pages long.
    
2. Click on ‘News Feed’ for the Comments section  (10 minutes)

 At the bottom left you will see an icon and Comments.  Click on it to see all the Comments made so far.  

Click on the ‘Thumbs Up’ icon of the comments you agree with. 

Scroll back to the top and add your comment in the slot.
