Praying for our futures in the Memphis and Tennessee conferences.

Today, as we remember the night that Jesus and the disciples gathered around the table, you are invited to gather around the table with one another. Intentionally share a meal today with someone and together recall the way Jesus ate with disciples who were sinners. Be assured that we as disciples and sinners are invited to the table with Him as well.

God of Promise,
As we approach the Table or bow at the feet of those we serve today, we come remembering the sacrifice and example of the Son. We also carry the collective remembrance of the people of God. We remember the promises you made Abraham and Moses. We remember the first Passover in Egypt and the last Passover meal Jesus celebrated with the Disciples. We know a new thing is coming, yet we remain here, today, remembering.

While we remember your faithfulness, we are aware of our forgetfulness. The Disciples did not know what would happen on your journey to the Cross. But, we do know, and yet forget. Remind us of the power of your death and resurrection. Remind us that a new thing can be born of the ashes.

In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray.
Amen.
