CHRONIC ABSENTEEISM

Ohio's measure of school quality or student success.

The data collected on this indicator during the 2017-18 school year will contribute to the Indicators Met measure within the Achievement component on report cards.

Ohio's Resource Guide to Reduce Chronic Absenteeism (2017) was developed to assist school districts in strategically planning and implementing prevention and interventions universally and at the student level to reduce absenteeism.

Attendance Works has a variety of tools and videos to help educators, administrators, and support staff address chronic absence, as well as families and family organizations.

Whether your Attendance Awareness Campaign is year-long or in the month of September, free promotional materials can be downloaded in English and Spanish.
