Pukllay - time of fertility and abundance

Pukllay means to celebrate life happily as a game.  The game is a reflection of the state of being: smiling, thanking and enjoying life in all of its manifestations: a flower blossoming, a river flowing, family, friendship, but mostly: fertility and abundance.
The Allpamama (mother earth) offers us fertility and abundance in all its splendor and the majestic beauty flush our eyes.  We are all involved in this game, animals, plants and human beings.  The exquisite adornments used to attract their lovers, take central importance now. In Pisac, at the rhythm of flutes and singings, youth galants (Maqt´as) start to express loudly their romance, and seek for the young maidens (P´asña). They start the path, dancing like imitating the course of rivers, while singing Pukllay songs.

     Song of the Month:

PUKLLACHANCHIS (We are playing)

Life flows, the green fields blossom in full splendor
Life itself shines in all its colors

the harmony consists of  candor (purity),
the game begins, love palpitates

life is reborn
what an energy, the forces come together,
the living movement of love,
the game of two,

the flow of life,
full of passion and harmony,
magic revitalizes life itself,
the fertility of mother earth is alive

itself in its full splendor,
the fields in their own beauty,
in various shades of colors,
so the magic has made life alive,
unified with the cosmos.

Pukllay of my heart,
You live in it,
You revitalized my being and gave me light
on my path of life.

Encouragement of the Month:

Take a deep breath and open your heart to the colorful beautiness surrounding you. When you inhale you receive the gifts coming to your life, integrate and share them while you exhale. This is how Ayni happens, giving and receiving.
Enjoy each moment of this time of the year. Feel your connection to everything that exists.  Respect and love.
Kusi Kawsay School has opened its doors for the new school year!

“It made me happy to see how the kids were running towards the school. It was an incredible emotion how they have grown while I stayed small.  They were so happy on the first day and this gave me a feeling of complete gratefulness” – Karin Caso (3rd year professor)
