Bravo: Beginning ASL Videocourse

Bravo: Beginning ASL Videocourse Series

Students learn quickly with this 16-course series. The lessons teach vocabulary, grammar and Deaf culture applied to real-world dramas. The series features famed ASL instructor Billy Seago and the fun Bravo family. This functional approach is appropriate for students of all ages.

Producer Channels

Each video’s Media Details section has a link to the producer’s DCMP channel, where you’ll find every media title by that producer. Check out the Weston Woods, National Geographic, and PBS Learning Media channels for a great idea of how this link can be a valuable tool.

Series

When you are browsing or searching for media, you can instantly get more information about any title by hovering your mouse over the preview image (or touching the image once on a mobile device). If the video is part of a series, the name of the series will be displayed first.

On the video player page, click the "Series" link to see all the videos associated with that series. Popular series include The Magic School Bus, Bizkids, and Social Studies Video Vocab.

Summer Reading

Viewing television and videos with captions is a great way to improve literacy and can be an effective supplement to summer reading programs. To help your kids get started, here are some popular captioned children's books on video.

About DCMP

DCMP membership provides unlimited access to thousands of accessible educational videos. We're fully funded by the U.S. Department of Education, so there are no costs associated with any of our services. Family members, school personnel, and other professionals who work with early learners through Grade 12 students with a hearing or vision loss do qualify for membership. DCMP members can:
  • Access thousands of educational videos that are described and captioned in our Media Library, including training for parents, teachers, and interpreters.
  • Check out videos on DVD (with free return postage), or watch instantly on PC, Roku, tablets, and smartphones. iOS users can use the DCMP iOS app.
  • Create and share Student Accounts to assign videos and promote independent learning.
  • Access resources on education, accessibility, and advocacy in our Learning Center.
