Hello <<First name>>

Welcome to our sixth edition of the Neotists newsletter. Your chance to shout about something you've been involved with. Also a chance to find out what other Neotists are up to without having to go trawling through their social media. I will be doing that instead so don't be surprised if I suddenly contact you asking if you'd like to be featured (you can always say no. And then block me. But hopefully that won't be necessary). Anyways, let's get on with this shall we? Hit reply if you'd like to get in touch.

News

St Neots Museum will be having fun with wizard recycling artist Fred White to create a giant museum time machine and giving the kids a chance to take home a souvenir of the day. Thursday 12, Friday 13, Saturday 14 April 11-3pm. £3.50 per child. They've also got other activities over the holidays including rag rug making and an easter trail.

The museum is looking for some help running their social media so please get in touch if you'd like to be involved. In return they'll be offering Time Credits that can be spent in venues and at events in the South East and London.

Submissions for this years film festival

I've mentioned this before but just as a reminder, submissions will be accepted from the end of April to the St Neots Film Festival. If you know anyone keen to get involved in making a short film (maximum of 20 minutes long) please pass it on.

Get involved with Woodcraft Folk

St Neots Woodcraft Folk are keen to get more people involved, both adults and children, and while we know what the kids will get out of it, you may not have realised the potential benefit as an adult helper. You can sign up to help run one-off children's activities at Cambridge's Strawberry Fair, Little Paxton's Pax Fest, a Pioneer activity in Thetford Forest, a family camp at Wimpole or even as far as Suffolk's Latitude Festival. Get in touch with Woodcraft Folk to find out more.

See

You could argue that this should be called 'Listen' as St Neots Concert Band are playing tomorrow Saturday 24 March 7.30pm in St Andrew's Church, Kimbolton. They will be playing Mozart's Gran Partita and tickets are still available on the door £10/£5 children. Keep your eyes peeled for Neotist Fiona Brice (sorry Fiona, that doesn't help the nerves at all, does it?)

Learn

PechaKucha was how many of us came to find out about Neotists and I'm really pleased so many are interested in helping us bring it back. It takes a few people to put it together, but as the events are quarterly, even stepping up for one of them would be a great help, but not too big a commitment. If you'd like to be involved (presenting/hosting/tech support/sound support) then get in touch.

For those asking what the heck is PechaKucha?  here's a throw back to one of our first ones by the ever-inspiring Christian Payne. Feel free to delve into the others on there, too, to get some inspiration - it can be about anything. ANYTHING.

Action

Recently some of our Neotists gave their time to students in Longsands to help promote the roles in the Creative Industry. It's good to hear that Ernulf have now signed up to the Creating The Future project and are looking for one creative to go along on 23 April for the morning to answer questions from Year 7 students as part of their careers week. If you are available please do get in touch by hitting reply.

Local author, Kylie Holmes, has written a children's book 'There's No Such Thing As Monsters' which had it's official launch in Waterstones last night. Not only is Kylie keen for people to read her book, but she's also looking to run workshops for children in the holidays and get involved with local schools to do creative writing events. If this is something you'd like to get involved with in any capacity, please do get in touch with Kylie. Make sure your child's school/group is aware of this great opportunity!
