Your Sentinel System, like your car, needs to be serviced from time to time. While the software running on your computer is constantly being updated, the hardware in the field doesn't receive the same attention.
As your system gets older, one of the most common faults in a facility with Unit alarms is the door contacts can be knocked & damaged, or simply wear from age. In a facility promoting individual Unit alarms, this can be a problem as the unit may not be alarming correctly.
An easy way to figure out if you have a problem is to run a quick report called an "Open door report". This exposes any door contacts that may need to be attended to.
It's very simple to run, from your Sentinel Platinum software:
1. Go to the View menu and select "Reports"
2. Find and click on the "Open Doors Report" in the top left field
3. Select if you want to print to a "printer" or "windows" and select "Print"
If the report say that the door is open, but the door is closed at the time, then the contact needs to be checked and / or replaced.
Email a copy of this report to helpdesk@storagesecurity.com.au , we will arrange a quote and get these back up and running ASAP. Kind regards,
Jason Keane
