As the tax year end approaches, some of you may have budgets to use up, and some of you may want to budget for art for the year ahead. We'll tell you how much you should put aside to fill your office with the perfect balance of art.
Budget for a Long-Term Art Rental
Average spend £500 per month
What Art in Offices mean by a long-term art rental, is a rental that lasts 12 months or more. All our rental prices are up on the website, and the way we work them out is Price of the Artwork/24 months = Rental Price.
We have different price categories to suite different budgets.
Under £75 per month, £75 - £125 per month, and £125 and over per month.
For a small wall in an office, you'll spend around £40 per artwork per month.
For a medium sized artwork in an office you'll spend £75 per artwork per month.
For medium to large artwork suitable for a meeting room, you'll spend around £90 per artwork per month.
For large piece for a corridor or board room you'll spend around £125 per artwork per month.
If you assume that the average small to medium company has one board room, one meeting room, a reception or large corridor, plus two office spaces that need a medium to large artwork, the costs will be an average of £500.
£125 + £90 + £125 + £75 + £75 = £490 per month.
Budget for an Art Rotation Every 6 months
Average Spend £1000 per month
We call the rent and rotation option an "Art Subscription", because we charge you a set monthly price that doesn't change, and includes all the shipping and installation costs.
A large office would be those with multiple board rooms, meeting rooms and a large internal office space. Most offices of this size change their artworks every 6 months. This is to ensure that clients and colleagues who visit for board meetings see something new every time they visit.
Large offices which have an average of four board rooms, two meeting rooms and lots of office space with empty walls will need an average of 10 artworks, of various sizes and prices. When the cost of 10 pieces is averaged over the whole office, it usually works out at £100 per artwork per month.
£100 average per artwork x 10 = £1000 per month.
Budget for Shipping and Installation costs
If you have an art subscription, these costs are added to your monthly payment, so there's nothing to pay on top. If you have a long term rental, you'll be charged these costs in advance.
Shipping costs will vary depending on which artist(s) you choose (shipping costs to their addresses vary), the number of artworks (which will effect the amount of time we take), whether your project needs two technicians and the frequency of artwork changes. But here are the basic costs for you.
Installation
There is a 3 hour minimum charge of £100 for each technician, then £25 per hour afterwards. For the average office £100 will suffice. For larger projects that take 5 hours (artwork in and out), budget £300.
Shipping
Most of our artists are based in London and the South East, so shipping costs can be grouped into three average price categories. London based = £90, South east based = £120, Further afield = £250 per journey.
No Hidden Costs
That's it. That's all you need to budget for with Art in Offices.
You may want to think about an artwork hanging system if you're going to change the artwork frequently, to avoid multiple pock marks in your walls. If you like the sound of this, we'll provide a bespoke quote for you.
