Big thanks to Writers Theater of NJ for my time spent in their Women Playwrights Program this past year. With their help and the help of many talented, generous actors, I have whipped my play THE OTHER WHITE MEAT into much better shape! Our time together culminated in a really fun reading of the play at Mile Square Theater. Looking forward to sending it out into the world and seeing where it lands!
I felt very lucky to mentor Shakerria Henderson, a young writer at LaGuardia Community College's Theater program the past few months, led by Professor Garrett Neegaard. Shakerria and two of her classmates will have the readings of their plays on April 16th, 7pm at the school. If you're interested in attending the free event, let me know!
For the past five summers, I've had a 10-minute play involved in the wonderful Cherry Picking Festival led by Clare Mottola. This summer, my pal Megan Hart and I have each been asked to write a 30-minute one act for their Punk Rock Kid Sister Project. We will each have the same cast of 7 actors to inspire us as well as an individual prompt. My prompt is quite juicy, so I'm excited to see what we're able to create. Shows will be in late August '18. Some fun news to report on the audio front. MAN HANDS, written by Sarina Bowen & Tanya Eby, co-narrated by Luke Daniels and me got an Earphones Award from Audiofile Magazine for exceptional audio! If you're looking for a super fun listen, check it out.
We have a new interview series cooking over at Romance Narrators. "Between the Sheets" is our weekly dive into the life and work of your favorite romance narrators.
