Congratulations to our HOSA International Leadership Conference competitors! We had 11 students qualify to go by placing in the top 3 teams at the State Competition for Health Education and Creative Problem Solving! We also had several students place in the top 10 in other areas! HOSA will be fundraising to assist these students in getting to Dallas, TX in June. Great work!
HOSA is hosting a blood drive fundraiser. The Blood Connection will donate $10 to HOSA for every unit of blood donated during the fundraising event. Donors can go to the Blood Connection and donate. They will keep a tally of how many people come into their center for HOSA.
The blood drive will be held on the following dates:
Students have to be at least 16 years old to donate. If the student is 16, a consent form is needed.
NC Reflections Contest
Layla Davenport submitted the following for the NC Reflections Contest.
My inspiration for this painting is our progression towards inhabiting Mars. It is predicted that America will have landed on Mars by the mid 2030s, and Mars is definitely where we're heading once global warming and the destruction of the environment, inflicted by humans, make the Earth practically uninhabitable. Living on Mars is within our reach, but also seems to be extremely distant. My painting communicates what I think the future home of the human race will look like, and how it is much closer than we think.
