Press Reset

Happy Bank Holiday Monday and hello April! This isn't a normal time for this newsletter popping into your inboxes but with no work for most this Monday I felt your dose of inspiration might be needed more as Monday draws to a close.

I'm extremely happy that this bank holiday marks the start of my Easter holidays. With two weeks off and not much planned except some wedmin, I'm using it as a time to reset. After setting myself some goals for the year some old habits have slipped back in and what better time to think about change then a new season.

As I have previously said, I have found my sewjo and have some projects lined up but my plan is to approach them differently. I'm not a patient person - in the past when I want to sew something because I want to get it finished I would often rush and there were always elements that could be improved. This year I am focusing on being more conscious, so I want to take my time. Doing little bits here and there and not feeling the need to rush.

I also have some things I have been wanting to launch, relaunch but haven't had the time or motivation to, so I'm hoping this will be a good time for that. It can be easy to beat yourself up about not getting things done and comparing yourself against other people's successes. I often find that this time of year can be an easy time for me to do that. I often see a boost in my motivation but can find myself looking back over the lost months and what I haven't done when the motivation wasn't there.

So how do you plan for a reset? Mood boards, spread sheets, my bullet journal are all the things that are my essentials. I like to map out plans, write down ideas, put them into a calendar and set myself some goals.

But I'm interested to know what works for others.
Is anyone using this month for a bit of a reset?

Ways to reset
5 mins Write a big list of everything you want to achieve this month.
30 mins Pick an idea or two and map out what you need to do to achieve that goal.
2 weeks Plan out tasks for each day to help you achieve your bigger goals. Give yourself a deadline and work backwards from that.

Don't forget to plan in some breaks.
You don't want to burn out.

A mood board is the perfect way to set out your bigger style and sewing goals for the month. Sometimes I use it to refresh my style, this month it's to help me get my sewing plans into motion.

For when you need a break from all that reseting your doing take some time for you and settle down with some good TV. Here are 3 shows that I have been loving recently.

Brooklyn Nine Nine
If you're looking for a feel good show then this is for you. I love this show because it's funny and everything is just nice. Past seasons are on Netflix and season five is currently airing on Channel 4 so what are you waiting for?

Queer Eye
Yes, I'm going there. Everyone is talking about it and I am too. This show is too good. A whole life makeover show, this show is just so much more. You'll laugh you'll cry and at the end of it you'll just feel good. The hardest part of watching this will be deciding which one of The Fab Five is your fave.

Hello, My Twenties!
This the best show I've ever started watching on Netflix out of boredom. This Korean drama will give you styling goals and interior goals. It won't be an easy ride - for such a fun and fluffy show, some storylines are surprisingly hard-hitting.
