Tucson Alumnae Chapter
Year One

The Tucson Alumnae Chapter of Delta Zeta celebrated in February 2018 the first anniversary of becoming an official chapter of Delta Zeta Sorority. The chapter started with a membership of 18 and has now grown to a membership of 21. The chapter meets during the months of February, April, June, August, October, and December at Hacienda del Sol Resort in Tucson for a 12:00 luncheon and business meeting.

During the course of the year, the chapter has supported several events beginning in June with a donation for the purchase of an initiation robe for the new Delta Zeta Chapter Pi Psi in San Marcus, California. In October, the alumnae made a donation to the Delta Zeta Foundation in honor of Founder's Day. The membership will continue this donation each year to support the many worthy causes of the Foundation.

We were pleased to have Susan Norman, Delta Zeta Arizona State Alumnae Chairman, to be present for the Founder's Day luncheon and to present Kathleen Martin with her 50 year Golden Rose certificate from the chapter. Susan also found that Barbara Tiahrt had not received her Golden Rose Certificate and made sure that she received one as well. This was particularly fitting as Barbara is a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Support was also given to our chapter with the attendance of another member of the Phoenix Alumnae Chapter, Lorna Green.

It was with sadness that the chapter sent a check to Delaney Beaton, Arizona State University, to honor her father who died in the Las Vegas shooting in November.

In April, the Tucson Alumnae supported the Tucson Panhellenic Annual Scholarship Benefit Luncheon. Two $1500 scholarships were awarded collegiate members.

Oscar, our mascot turtle, continues to travel with members of the alumnae group to various states, such as, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, New York, Ohio, Nova Scotia, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Massachusetts, as well as the classroom of one of our working Delta Zeta teachers. He's a busy little turtle who always generates big smiles when people see him posing for a picture.

Two Tucson members will be attending the Delta Zeta National Convention in San Francisco: Sandy Bailey, former Delta Zeta national officer and Briana Russo, one of our newest members who just completed her Master's Degree at the University of Arizona.

The Tucson Alumnae of Delta Zeta is proud to continue the great work of our six founders. Members will continue to support community activities and special projects.

The next luncheon of the Tucson Alumnae of Delta Zeta will be held on June 11, 2018 at Hacienda del Sol at 12:00 noon. Please RSVP to Vickie Hildebrand at vickielynn@comcast.net. All Delta Zetas are welcome to attend our fun gathering and sisterhood.
Suzan Bryceland, President Tucson Alumnae Chapter of Delta Zeta
Pi Zeta Chapter at ASU
We congratulate all thirty five of our Pi Zeta chapter graduating seniors and welcome them into alumnae status. Arizona State University Commencement for Undergraduate Students will be held Monday, May 7,  2018, 7:30 pm at Chase Field in Downtown Phoenix. Remember Delta Zeta is not just for four years. Where ever you may go on life's journey, remember there is probably a Delta Zeta Alumnae chapter to continue your sisterhood as an alumna member.

Our Pi Zeta chapter raised
an amΔΖing $46,905.79 from their DZ Duke-Out philanthropy event. Most of those funds will go to Starkey Hearing and other various hearing needs, including money for the Phoenix Day School for the Deaf Scholarships that will be awarded May 15th.

Work on the new Greek Leadership Village where the chapter will be moving to this fall, is proceeding right on schedule. That means soon, we will have to empty Adelphi of all furniture. There are a few pieces that we are taking with and we have sold a few items to a local fraternity but the rest will go to charity unless there are some pieces you would like to purchase (at Craig's list prices). There is a 12' long table with 12 office type chairs, a large sectional, a 60" round table with 6 chairs, various lamps, a long bench, sofa table, 2 striped occasional chairs, a pink occasional chair and a large leather coffee table ottoman. If you are interested in any of these pieces, please call Lorna at 602-290-6475. Pieces can be picked up after May 10th but before June 30th.
Phoenix Alumnae Chapter Philanthropy
Since 1983 Phoenix Alumnae Chapter has given a scholarship(s) to a graduating senior(s) from the Phoenix Day School for the Deaf who is going on to higher education. This year the scholarships will be awarded on
