March 2018 Update

The Enterprise Project’s Architect phase concludes tomorrow (March 30) for several areas, including Finance, Human Resources and Payroll, which will move into the Configure and Prototype phase. The Student area will move into a combined design and build effort that includes aspects of both Architect and Configure and Prototype phases.

During Configure and Prototype, Ohio State will build the next iteration of our Workday environment and other technologies using the core requirements gathered during the prior phase. The building process (called “configuration”) includes inputs and outputs from all Enterprise Project areas, including business processes, technology, data and organizational change management.

Business Process Transformation Outcomes

Workday Homepage

The Enterprise Project is both a business process transformation and a system implementation. A handful of business processes were selected for intensive improvement efforts to advance the university’s strategic plan. These areas were evaluated and re-designed during collaborative business process transformation (BPT) workshops.

Check out the outcomes of three different BPT workshops:

Tenant

A Workday tenant is a standard and secure environment that can be altered to build, test and demonstrate functionality. Tenants enable the university to adapt Workday to Ohio State’s unique business needs. Quick tip: If Workday is a house, then Ohio State is one of its tenants!
