APPLY TO BE A YOUTH (18-35) DELEGATE AT TERRA MADRE 2018

Thanks to everyone who braved the second beast from the east and joined us at Custom Lane on Sunday 18th March. We have been so grateful for the positive feedback and I know we felt it was a brilliant evening full of lively discussion, great presentations and some delicious food and drink.

We will also be submitting the contributions attendees made to the Scottish Food Coalition's Kitchen Table Talk consultation in the next week as well as providing them with the filmed responses in order to help visualise the consultation submission.

We want to give another 👏 to all our fabulous #volunteers, speakers, suppliers, cooks & venue hosts for helping to create such a fantastic event for our food #changemakers under 35 in Scotland!

Here’s to many more events to engage, support & promote you all to come - with #terramadre applications being the first step (see above).

Special thanks also to Channel7A for helping us with our 1st #livestream - we hope to do many more of these in the future!

World Disco Soup Day is back on 28th April 2018!

We invite you to join World Disco Soup Day 2018 - A global culinary and musical act of protest which aims to unite people against food waste across the planet.

Since 2012, many different ‘Disco Soups’ have taken place. Last year SFYN international coordinators from around the world came together to organise and/or promote more than 100 Disco Soups, in over 40 countries. Saving over 5,000 kg of food and serving 25,000 meals, and featuring in various international media.

This year we want the event to be even bigger and are encouraging everyone to participate or hosts a Disco Soup in their local community - joining forces with others across the world - thus acting local whilst also making a major global statement at the scale of the Food Waste problem!

Disco Soups are social, inclusive, local community events which, when interconnected with events across the world, become a powerful global collective statement in the fight against the food waste.

Currently, there are 3 confirmed events and a number of additional events in planning stages across Scotland -

Edinburgh
On April 28th, 12-3pm, Tasting Change Wester Hailes in collaboration with Prep Table will host a disco soup lunch in Wester Hailes - Facebook event here.
On May 6th a number of local food organisations across Leith will host a 'Feed the 1000' event cooking up food waste for the public at a variety of venues - Facebook event here.

Glasgow
On April 28th, 17:30 - 11pm - SFYN Glasgow will host a Disco Film/Dance & soup at the Centre for Contemporary Arts & Smile Cafe in Glasgow in collaboration with Cinemattic. See the CCA event here.
