Lutz Preparatory School K-8 NEWSFLASH, V6 Issue 36, March 29, 2018
A Note from Administration
Dear Lutz Preparatory Families,

We are nearing the end of our first year as a Leader in Me school.  We are already off to a wonderful start and we are looking forward to growing even more next year.  As you look around the school you can hear our kids using the 7 habits language, working together to make win-win situations, and making goals to better themselves academically and socially.  You will also start to notice our school making physical changes too!!  We have two beautiful murals going that you will see on our walls in our main building along with another in the pre-prep cafeteria.  One was created by a very talented student here at Lutz Prep, another will be filled with our student’s work, and our pre-prep students’ handprints will complete their tree!!

We want to take a moment and say thank you for helping us adopt this new mindset and for all that you do to support Lutz Prep!!  We would like to ask you to take a moment to fill out a survey for Leader in Me using the link below.  The information you provide will help us in planning for the years to come.  Upon filling out the survey, please send an email to: robin.feocco@lutzprep.org and Mrs. Feocco will gladly enter a volunteer hour for you (a win-win situation!!).

Please click on the button below to complete the online survey by Tuesday, April 10th.

Thank you for all you do!!

Great Kindness Challenge
On behalf of our 5th grade parent committee, we would love for our students at Lutz Preparatory to participate in the Great Kindness Challenge, where thousands of schools across the country join together to create a culture of kindness.  We missed the deadline for 2018, but we are registered for 2019!!  We don't want to miss out on an opportunity to show our children random acts of kindness.  We want to teach our kids about empathy and compassion for others.  Let's build up all of our LP students self esteem!  The 5th Grade Committee is creating a "Be Kind" atmosphere and we are going to "Pay It Forward".  Please join us in celebrating random acts of kindness. Let's show the community what Lutz Prep is made of!

We will have a "Pay It Forward" Tree in the lobby during the month of April.  Students are encouraged to add a leaf (or more) to our tree every time they perform a random act of kindness.  Parents can send in kindness quotes and random acts of kindness via their student to add to the tree.  Lets fill up our lobby and hallways!

For any questions please contact 5th grade parent representative, Carrie Homer.

"How do we change the world?  One Random act of kindness at a time."
"Be the reason someone believes in the goodness of people."

Florida Standards Assessment Portal
The FSA portal is your source for information about the Florida Standards Assessments.

Florida’s K-12 assessment system measures students’ achievement of Florida’s education standards, which were developed and implemented to ensure that all students graduate from high school ready for success in college, career, and life.  Assessment supports instruction and student learning, and test results help Florida’s educational leadership and stakeholders determine whether the goals of the education system are being met.  Please click HERE to visit the Florida Department of Education FSA Portal.

Florida Standards Assessments
As we have begun the second part of the school year, we want to inform you of some key information regarding the upcoming spring assessments. Below you will find tentative testing dates for the grade levels and their respective assessments.  Please be aware that these dates are provided within testing “windows”, and they can change based on various factors.  State and district changes, unforeseen technology issues, and internal scheduling at Lutz Prep all can play a factor in altering testing dates and times.  While we make every attempt to communicate with families, teachers, and our students in order to be best prepared, we appreciate your flexibility and patience during this time. In addition, please note that during testing windows, we will be a ‘closed campus’ and no volunteering is available.

Please click the button below to visit the Academics\Assessment tab of our website for the testing dates.

**Reminder: These dates are tentative and CAN CHANGE at any time**
