The Texas Oral Health Coalition is pleased to partner with The Texas Department of State Health Services Oral Health Surveillance Program (DSHS-OHSP), Advancing the Oral Health Movement in Texas (ATOHMIT), and the Texas Repository of Oral Health Data for Evaluation and Outcomes (ROHDEO) to create a unified oral health conference that will replace our oral health summit in November.  Please make plans to join us in a true collaboration to improve oral health in Texas.

In addition to individual and student membership, the Coalition is pleased to announce a new category for large groups that includes up to ten(10) people per academic institution, business, professional organization, association or coalition for the low membership rate of $350/year.  Individual membership remains $50/year and student membership $10/year.

Texas Represented at Campaign for Dental Health
Community Water Fluoridation Meeting


Last week, the Campaign for Dental Health convened its annual meeting for community water fluoridation advocates at the American Academy of Pediatrics headquarters in Chicago. The meeting focused on building statewide teams to support water fluoridation, and Texas was well-represented.  Lisa Sicilio, President of the Texas School Nurses Organization (TSNO); Dr. Johanna DeYoung, TxOHC Treasurer; Dr. Rhonda Stokley, state public health dental director; and Beth Stewart, TxOHC Executive Director all attended from Texas.

ADA guideline on nonsurgical caries management

The American Dental Association will release a clinical practice guideline on the use of nonsurgical treatments for caries management later this year, and public comments are now being solicited concerning the guideline’s drafted recommendation statements.  Your feedback will be reviewed by the guideline’s writers and used to inform their final manuscript.

Visit ADA.org/caries to see a draft of the guideline’s recommendation statements and provide feedback. The deadline to submit comments is April 9, 2018.
