We are now taking bookings for our 2018 Conference: 'Assessing and Treating Developmentally Traumatised Children' to be held on 19 October at The Crystal, London.

The conference is aimed at social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists, therapists, teachers and anyone involved in helping children who are looked after and adopted. Please help us spread the word by sharing this information with others who may also be interested in attending.

Come and hear about the latest findings for Neuro-Physiological Psychotherapy, an integrative multidisciplinary approach that addresses the physiological, emotional, cognitive and behavioural impact of Developmental Trauma
and Complex PTSD for children. Research exploring the outcomes of this model points to significant improvements for young people in affect regulation, quality of relationships, behavioural outcomes and inclusion in education when compared to a cohort of children who did not receive the recommended treatment package. The long term implications will be discussed at the conference.

We are delighted to have as our keynote speaker Professor Colwyn Trevarthen, one of our guiding lights. He will be speaking about evidence of the primacy of emotions and the implications for social policy in education and care.

You can see the conference agenda here, including a list of workshops.

We hope to see you at the conference!

Training Courses coming up for parents, foster carers, special guardians and professionals

Helping Fostered Children Transition to a New Family

Helping children to move from foster home to permanent placement has been a neglected area of practice. For many children, such moves are fraught, hasty and sometimes represent the loss of a significant carer. This course will help you to support a child through this transition period and is a chance for social workers, adoptive parents, foster carers and therapists to join a learning forum.
