Auditing Your Heavenly Data

 As you evaluate your life data, does it reflect the values of heaven? Every day with every interaction or transaction online or offline, we leave a little trail of “data cookie crumbs.” These crumbs of evidence can be studied to detect trends, habits, and associations.
Data scientists study this information to help businesses market you with relevant information that you are likely to connect with. It is an implicit trust relationship that we don’t normally think too much about. We trust that an app or website transaction with a company or organization is going to respect our information and not use it to harm us. But then that trust can be broken (and we've recently experienced this once again in our society).
Here’s the reality for us as Christ-followers: Heaven’s data collection is bigger than anything Google, Facebook, or any company can dream about. A well-known and often-quoted Bible verse gives solid advice for how to cultivate God-honoring data in our lives.

Partnering with God in Guatemala
What a team! This is our Washington team (minus one) on the NPUC evangelism mission trip in Guatemala during spring break this year.

The team is already reporting hundreds of baptisms, great community connections, and a positive experience. Tonight's topic is about baptism, and even more decisions for baptism are anticipated.
"It has been really fun to work alongside the young people," says Doug Bing, "and hear their stories from each site and to brainstorm ways to present each topic."

Sunny Spring Breaks for Service
Spring Break time in the Pacific Northwest typically means a sojourn to sunshine for a dose of natural vitamin D. For our academy students, they are bringing the sunshine of service and learning through mission and educational trips.
Students and adults from Auburn Adventist Academy Church are once again in Pugudpud, Philippines, with In His Service Amianan to help with medical, dental, construction and community projects at Pagudpud Adventist Wellness Center. See a collection of photos on Facebook!
Skagit Adventist Academy is in Puerto Rico serving the community by fixing up churches, painting buildings, constructing walls, helping neighbors, and cleaning up landscaping among other projects.
Auburn Adventist Academy is in Belize where they are helping The King's Children's Home orphanage with Vacation Bible School and digging a new septic system among other facility and community improvement projects.
Puget Sound Adventist Academy alternates mission trips with educational tours. This is their educational tour year, and participants are on a study tour through Italy.
Orcas Christian School will be departing soon for their own mission trip in the Philippines.

Pacific Northwest Partners with Palau
In the Pacific Northwest, we are forming a new ministry partnership with Guam-Micronesia Mission. Each Union in the North American Division has partnered with an island in Micronesia to help further the spread of the gospel.
Here in the North Pacific Union Conference, we are partnering with the island of Palau.
Earlier this year, Northwest ministry representatives including our own Doug & Wilma Bing visited the island to learn about ministry needs and to meet with local Adventists. The NPUC team will coordinate a joint approach for supporting practical ministry and mission needs.
"The needs leaders shared with us are very practical ministry needs," Doug Bing shares. "We'll likely be helping the schools with teacher mentoring, library improvements, student desks, and other ministry support."

What the World Needs is A Servolution
At our first Urban Ministries Conference a couple years ago, we invited David Jamieson, pastor of Church in the Valley in British Columbia, to share with us about "Extreme Servolution." This concept is still true today as we are preparing for the second #UrbanSDA gathering. Here's our notes from his presentation:
Our cities in the world are in crisis and experiencing a global revolution. There is an unprecedented desire in our cities for change. What the world needs is not a revolution, but a servolution.
Servolution is an action word to love our neighbors as ourselves. What would Dorcus do today to reach people and help them wonder why? Service breaks down barriers and opens hearts.
Servolution is about:
- Serving with no strings attached because we love people (John 13:34, 3:16);
- Serving with extreme generosity (Matt. 20:28) just like Jesus did;
- Expanding the kingdom, not just the church (Matt. 6:9-10).
Each of us has a kingdom assignment: Love God, Love Others, Serve the World.

Countdown to ASI Northwest Convention & AMEN Everett
You are invited to be a part of this special convention for Adventists in business on April 20-21! You don't have to be an ASI member to participate in the Friday night and Sabbath programs!
Dick Duerksen will open the ASI Northwest Convention with presentations on Friday night at the Angel of the Winds Convention Center/Arena (formerly Xfinity). The Friday evening program will be filled with singing and stories. Duerksen will continue his storytelling on Saturday evening. Additional presenters include Dr. John McVay (Sabbath School time) and Doug Bing (Church time). Fountainview Academy will also provide music features.

Join in with serving at the AMEN Everett Free Clinic on April 20 & 22.
