April is an exciting month for our network! Learn more about what’s going on and how you and your students can get involved.
Get Ready
Do you have seniors in your program who are graduating soon? Participation cords are currently available for Educators Rising members to purchase in the Educators Rising online store. Be sure to remind your students to order theirs in time for graduation!
While you're at it, you should also remind them that all Prospective Educator Scholarship applications are due next week. If your students are seniors who are planning to attend college and major in education, they are eligible for scholarships and must submit their applications by 5 p.m. ET on Monday, April 2. There are more than 30 unique opportunities available — be sure your students are taking advantage of them!
Get Involved
The early bird deadline to register for the 2018 Educators Rising National Conference is coming right up on Monday, April 23, so if you want to save on registration, you'll need to do so before then. Also, if your students plan to compete at nationals in Orlando, remember that there are two steps required that must be completed by April 23, too. (Anyone who applies after that date will not be allowed to compete.)
- Register to attend the conference.
- Sign up for on-site scheduling and submit all required materials. If you or your students are not sure what's required, download this handy checklist and use it to make sure they're all set for Orlando!
Get Connected
We're teaming up with Student Voice during National Student Leadership Week (April 15–21), a week dedicated to recognizing the vital role of student leaders, to host a Twitter chat about the need for students to step up and contribute their voices to important dialogues. Mark your calendar for 9 p.m. ET on Thursday, April 19, and use #StuVoiceChat then to tell us how you encourage student voice.
