Dear Friends,

Last Saturday, all three of my kids marched in The March For Our Lives. I was sick in bed but my husband reported that this was a march led by children; every chant was kid-generated. My 12-year-old has already marched three times in the last two years - a stark contrast to my first march which happened when I was in college. This generation is growing up learning how to use their voices and they are validated by seeing grownups listen to them.

I am so excited for them, so full of hope, idealism, and dreams. They are the future and they are a huge source of inspiration for our present.

Stop Encouraging the Workaholics

As a manager, it is up to you to create an environment that rewards results, rather than rewarding the workaholics.

If you make it clear to your employees that you expect results, and not just time spent in the office or hard work for hard work’s sake, not just putting in face time, it will encourage your employees to work smarter and motivate them at the same time.

When leaders show that they value working smarter over working longer, they attract and retain top talent, and overall happiness improves too.
