Hello Nordic Folk!

There is still lots of snow on our trails and members and guests continue to enjoy "Goldilocks" season at our club.  What, you ask, is Goldilocks season?  It's that time of year when you find one trail to be a little too cold, another to be a little too warm, and then you find a magnificent trail that is just right!

We hope that you are finding just the right time to enjoy our trails, and please read on for the news you'll need to ski into April:

Weather permitting, our grooming will continue on a modified schedule (3-4 times a week), and our lodge office will be open from 10am-2pm daily.

Free Rentals Continue for 16 and Under!

Don't forget that there are free rentals for youth aged 16 and under, so encourage your kids to take a friend skiing.

Trail/Parking Update and Strategic Planning: Info Session

You've shared your thoughts, and now the RNSC wants to share our strategic plan with you.  We also have some exciting news about a trail expansion and a parking lot expansion for next year.

Please attend our Strategic Plan Information Session on Thursday, April 19th at the Community Centre Time: 5pm-8pm.  Refreshments will be served.

A Call for Photographs!

I would like to thank Rob Buchanan, Krista Royle, Bruce Granstrom, and Mike Thomas for sharing their photos and videos with the RNSC.  If you have taken some photographs of the club that you would like to share, please send them to info@revelstokenordic.org

We would love photos of anything related to the club.

Think of the bragging rights that you will have if your photo is selected for next year's membership tag!

A Letter from Doug Clovechok, MLA

Our young racers at the RNSC have performed exceptionally well this year, and this has commanded much attention in Nordic circles provincially and nationwide.  We want to thank Doug Clovechok for his recent letter to our club president, Gary Graf, and we are proud to share this letter with our members:

Dear Gary,

I’d like to extend my congratulations to the Revelstoke Nordic Club on their impressive results at the 2018 Ski Nationals in Thunder Bay.

It must feel intensely rewarding for your club to reap the rewards of such outstanding performances at such a high level of competition. Your athletes have represented us well and they all deserve congratulations for their dedication to the sport.

There were so many Revelstoke athletes that posted great results, but it would be remiss not to mention the Junior Girls. To dominate the top 8 in the Junior Girl’s Pursuit (1st, 2nd, 6th and 8th) is to really put Revelstoke on the map as a powerhouse in this sport, as well as the 3rd,4th,6th and 10th results in the Junior Girls’ pursuit.

There are so many volunteers, coaches, parents and athletes that need to come together to get results like this. Please know that your efforts are recognized, appreciated and celebrated. It would be appreciated if you could pass on my congratulations to your entire club.

All the best,

Doug Clovechok

AGM Notice: May 8th, 2018

Please notice that our AGM is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, May 8th, 2018 at the Macpherson Lodge.  More details to follow.

Thanks Again to our Members!

Our club is not a club without you.

We have had another great season and our membership numbers hit 686, very close to our record season last year.  Our guest visits were also in line with last year's totals.

As our season winds down, the RNSC wants to thank our membership for all of the support this season and we hope that you continue to enjoy the sport in the month (and years) ahead.

Cheers!
