SECOND OF THREE SHUMAN ESCAPEES IN-CUSTODY
PITTSBURGH, PA – Last evening, sheriff’s deputies developed information that one of the escapees was driving a 2013 black Chevy Cruze, which was allegedly stolen after the juveniles escaped from Shuman Detention Center on Thursday evening.  The vehicle was spotted heading southbound on Route 51, which prompted deputies to advise Westmoreland County 911, as well as Rostraver Police and PA State Police – Belle Vernon barracks.

Ultimately, the vehicle exited Route 51 into Elizabeth Twp. and was spotted by police, after which a pursuit ensued from Allegheny County into Westmoreland.  The escapee crashed the vehicle and all three occupants fled the scene.  However, the female passengers were located shortly thereafter and taken into custody.  One of the passenger’s, who is the girlfriend of the escapee, was wanted on a juvenile attachment warrant.

Police observed the escapee flee the scene by jumping off a ledge into a creek and was able to elude authorities’ apprehension.  Shortly thereafter, the escapee allegedly stole another vehicle and crashed that, too.  Upon crashing this vehicle, the escapee fled into the woods, where authorities covered the perimeter for a few hours, to no avail.

While police still searched for the escapee, he managed to find his way out of the woods and knock on the door of a nearby home in Rostraver Township, Westmoreland County.  He asked the resident if they could provide a ride to Pittsburgh, Monroeville or somewhere on or near Route 51.  Due to this suspicious request the resident called 911 and Rostraver Police apprehended the escapee in the resident’s backyard.

Early yesterday morning, deputies apprehended the first of three fugitives at an address in the Bon Air neighborhood of the City of Pittsburgh.

The last escapee at-large from the Thursday evening escape is Raymontay Green.  If you have any information regarding his whereabouts, please contact the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office Warrant office at 412-350-4714.
