Following the Parkland, Florida shooting young people everywhere are coming together and taking action. They are leading the way and creating change - holding us all accountable for gun violence in our country and the unending pattern of traumatic school shootings.
Students at our schools have been at the forefront of the local movement, starting with a walkout on February 21 in solidarity with their Florida peers (photo above). At CITY Center for Collaborative Learning we support and foster #studentvoice, especially when young people use it to engage their community to share their learning and advocate for social change.
On April 13, we host the Pennington Street Showcase, a high-energy joyful event when students turn school inside-out and bring their learning to the street and invite the community into their classrooms. Come see #whatkidscando. They will impress and inspire.
