I feel like I'm running behind in everything over the past few weeks. When I sat down to write this newsletter, I realised that I'd completely forgotten to send one at the end of February. Twenty-eight days isn't long enough for a month.
I'm also way behind in writing my book reviews, but I read a book last weekend that I loved so much that I dropped everything and wrote the review immediately.
Those Other Women by Nicola Moriarty is exactly the sort of book I adore - a clever and balanced exploration of modern women's lives. Filled with rival Facebook groups, workplace dynamics and the struggles of women, both mothers and those who chose not to have children, this book captured me from the first page and kept me engrossed the whole way through.
It's currently available in Australia but I think International readers may have to wait a few months - but it's coming.
After recording the audiobook editions of Wife, Mother, Woman and Catching Onix, I sat down to write a blog post to explain my process. That post grew and grew until it turned into a book. So, of course, I shut myself back in the closet to record another audiobook. With a book titled Narrated by the Author, all about narrating, I figured it ought to have an audio edition.
I'm finally done with the recording and glad to be back out in the sunshine.
Narrated by the Author is available for pre-order and will be releasing next month on my birthday - April 16. It's the perfect read for a self-published author who is considering narrating their own audiobooks, just like I did.
