2018 Legislative Updates
Thank you to the Idaho Academy of Family Physicians for sharing their legislative monitoring efforts related to rural health, primary care and medical education. All weekly updates are posted to the IRHA website (click the heading above to get there).
Week Eleven (ending March 23) Update on Grad Med Ed10-year plan, Idaho Health Plan Dead for Year
Week Ten (ending March 16) Updates on RPIP Matching Funds and Abortion Complications Reporting
Week Nine (ending March 9) Updates on Medicaid Dental Care and Felony Battery On HC Providers
Week Eight (ending March 2) Suicide Prevention in Schools, Direct Primary Care Pilot and more
The Idaho Health Care Plan was briefly revived, then died again last week. After a procedural move to bring H464 (the Dual-Waiver health care plan) back to the House floor for a vote, the House then debated and voted to send it BACK to committee on Wednesday, effectively killing any effort to address a portion of the “gap” population this year.
As of March 22, the legislature is effectively finished with its business. They will not formally adjourn until this week as they wait for the Governor to act on bills which have made it to his desk.
