As term one draws to a close we would like to thank all our School and Playgroup families for their continuing support. It has been a busy term, with 2 new Playgroups starting. One in Dunbogan and the other on the school grounds in Port Macquarie. Welcome to our new families attending playgroups. The Children have settled in well to Kindergarten, and continue to play and explore in their new rhythm of days of the week. We are looking forward to the Official School Opening day in April, where a traditional welcome to country, speeches by Steiner Education Australia CEO, Virginia Moller, and the official cutting of the ribbon by our local Mayor and President of the Board will take place.

Port Macquarie Steiner School is interested in exploring and expanding services for Pre-Kindergarten and across the Teacher/Playgroup Coordinator Roles. We welcome innovative suggestions about the roles and are currently seeking expressions of interest and applications for the following positions. 

Casual Teacher – Port Macquarie Steiner School is currently looking for teachers to add to our casual staff register who are qualified and experienced in teaching Kindergarten. The ideal candidate will be committed to Steiner Education with demonstrated experience in creating a learning environment in which children are supported through a nourishing and gentle rhythm to explore and learn through play in line with Steiner curriculum. Port Macquarie Steiner School and Kindergarten is committed to child safety and requires all employees to adhere to our Staff Code of Conduct and the school’s Child Safe Policies.  Playgroup Coordinator – We are currently seeking a caring, creative and experienced Playgroup Coordinator to lead our Little Bowerbirds Steiner Playgroup. There are currently two playgroup sessions per week that run out of Port Macquarie and Dunbogan with room to grow under the right facilitator. The ideal candidate will be able to lead hands-on activities, play, artistic activities, singing and baking in the early years program and have demonstrated knowledge, experience and commitment to Steiner Education.
