2018 ACPA Convention Highlights
The Convention, held March 11-14 in Houston, TX, emphasized ACPA's commitment to the Strategic Imperative for Racial Justice and Decolonization. The Commission for AOFYE centered many of our own conversations around the Strategic Imperative during meetings and gatherings held throughout the conference.
During our open meeting discussions centered on how experiences in AOFYE as individuals and as professionals can lead to more just practices while students are onboarding into the campus environment. Professionals also shared job openings, networked with others in the field, and had conversations about getting started in the work of AOFYE at both our open meeting and at our round table.
We were proud to once again present awards for outstanding professionals and programs in AOFYE. Our 2018 award recipients are:
Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award:
Haley Finerman – University of Southern California
Outstanding Graduate Student Award:
Amy Gildemeister – Fort Hays State University
